IPL Dry Eye Treatment

Andrew Matheson has been treating his Dry Eye patients with the Lumenis M22 Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device since early 2019 in the UK with great success.

When the M22 was first used to treat dry eye many thought that it would only be of benefit to those patients with Rosacea exacerbated evaporative dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction

Over the early years our understanding of dry eye disease has improved in leaps and bounds and with it our realisation that IPL treatment can help many more dry eye variants than previously thought possible.

In those early years it was thought that a patient had to be diagnosed as having either Aquous-Deficient Dry Eye or Evaporative Dry Eye and then tailoring their treatment to that exclusive diagnosis.

IPL Dry Eye is an educational website discussing the use of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Therapy in the treatment of Dry Eye. The site is run by specialist therapeutic optometrists and IPL treatment providers Eyecare Specialists, based in Hampshire, UK.
